Hey guys,
I’ve decided to put Beautiful Monsters on hiatus for a bit. I’m not sure right now if I’ll come back to it at some point or not, right now I am done with it though and just don’t care to work on this project anymore.
I’m not going to be too longwinded, it’s all been said before and I don’t think this comes as a surprise to too many people, but I just don’t enjoy blogging anymore. I feel in order to be “successful” at this, I will have to do content I don’t want to do, appeal to people I don’t want to appeal to, and in general, be around people I don’t want to be around. Truth is I haven’t enjoyed doing this since year one of FF. I briefly felt good about it, after rebranding to BM, but that got fucked up quick, and I don’t see myself feeling the same about any of this as I did 3 years ago. Truth is the fandom around Futurism online, kind of ruined it for me. And I can’t write on that subject without dissing a lot of people in the process. I’ve been trying to self censor and not derail myself with that shit, but I still don’t really enjoy writing about Futurism anymore, for that reason.
At the same time music has become much more of my focus over the past few months, I actually do enjoy working on that, and the blog has become a chore I keep going, mostly out of habit to be honest. And honestly, I don’t want to fuck music up for myself, by having it overlap too much with e-politics people, and the sort of people who read this blog. So I’m calling it quits, or at least taking a break from it.
Shout out to R. Mutt, Marko M, Duty and Honor and Friedrich Durden for their submissions over the past several months. I couldn’t have kept it going without those people, and I hope to keep in touch with them post-blog.
I’m not going to say where people can find me online going forward. It’s not that I’m hiding or anything, if someone “finds me out,” good on you I guess. I just want a clean break and a new start doing something different. The people I want to keep in touch with will know where to find me, and the people I don’t want to keep in touch with I don’t want to keep in touch with.
Anyways, thanks to everyone who enjoyed the blog, I wish you all the best.
Salut,
Gio

Dear Gio,
I am sorry to be hearing this news so suddenly. I thought that BM would have given you a chance to start over on a cleaner slate. Blogging can be tough to keep going on a day-to-day basis. That is why I have begun to post once per week with a specific topic. But I can see why it's not meant for everyone. Honestly, I hope that whatever issues you may have had with FF or BM will not follow you into music.
Since this will probably be the end of BM, I am going to continue working on that short story, Zero Hour, on my WordPress Blog, The Fourth Estate. I am still going to keep that Blog running anyway, so feel free to comment or send me a PM at fourthestatepolicy.com.
Take care,
-DAH
